He is starting to get my attention...5 HR this week (another one tonight).
His line for the season is:
29 R, 11 HR 36 RBI, .342 OBP in only 179 AB. If he had started out playing every day, that is about 35 HR, 110 RBI pace.
He had 15 HR in 350 AB last year, so the power isn't out of nowhere, and he is at that 27 yr. old break out age, and seems to be an every day player for the Angels now. (I think, can someone verify?)
He started off the year really slow, but has picked it up in July. It's worth noting that he has 9 hrs against rhp, and just 2 against lefties, although he is hitting .296 against lhp and .269 against rhp.
I was pissed when the Yanks let him go. I met him and got his autograph while he was here. Nice guy.
She said always remember never to trust me She said that the first night that she met me She said "there's gonna be a time when I'm gonna have to go with whoever's gonna get me the highest."
If he keeps hitting decently like he has been, I don't see how the Angels can afford to bench him. They need bats, so anyone who looks like they have some sort of ability/hot streak they'll probably stick around for awhile. Worth a flyer.
And I think he's the guy who was stealing stuff from the Yankee clubhouse a couple years back to hock to as collectibles....but I might have the wrong guy....

Wrong guy.
Your thinking of Ruben Rivera who stole Jeters glove out of his locker. Must've been really desperate.
