Jul 14 The Associated Press reports Toronto Blue Jays OF Alex Rios (infection) will miss at least another 10 days with an infection in his lower left leg.
This is connected to Rios in that it's another Blue Jays player going on the DL with staph. From Yahoo:
Jul 15 The Associated Press reports Toronto Blue Jays P Ty Taubenheim (staph infection) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with staph infection in his left foot. He is the second Blue Jays player to contract a staph infection after OF Alex Rios (leg) suffered one in his lower left leg in late June. The team worked with health inspectors to ensure the Blue Jays' home clubhouse was not the source. After the inspection, the clubhouse was disinfected as a precaution. Team spokesman Jay Stenhouse said the " clubhouse was absolutely not the source of the infection."
I just heard on Fox Sports News that Rios took Batting Practice today. Its looking good that by the end of this month he should be back in our lineups!
