I think it's time Mike Carp gets his own topic

He just turned 20 last week and is a big, left-handed 1b. He is still filling out, but the k/bb ratio is pretty good (35/64) for a kid his age at his level and I think he'll develop more power than his current once-every-fifty-at-bats would indicate.

I'm quite hopeful. Not for the near future, of course, he's nowhere near ready. But around the time Delgado's contract is done, we may have another home-grown star on our hands.

I've read a lot about him. Seems like everyone agrees that the power is coming and that he has really stepped up his defense. Looks like Harper will start in Norfolk next year and Carp in Binghamton.
