He's seeing more and more time against lefties, especially since it's become apparent that Pratt is totally washed-up. But seriously, catchers don't catch every day. His days off are mostly day games after night games, or if there's a nasty lefty throwing.

Just based on what I see opinion wise (He is on my team) he takes way too many off days.

He usually assigns the #2 (Preatt in this case) to a certain SP, and then that guy always catches that pitcher. It doesn't matter how good they are. For example, Javy Lopez never caught Greg Maddux, even when Javy was one of the best hitting catchers in baseball.
Not saying you're wrong about Bobby, but I think the Maddux situation had more to do with Maddux.

I can see sitting him for a game here and there, but he sits way too often especially for a catcher that can really produce offensively!

Well it is not like Cox has to worry about getting winning a playoff spot, so he can afford to go slow with some of the kids.

he is also still working his way back from the ankle injury and he still limps around the bases. any excuse for a day off might be a good thing for him.

Yep, watching him run hurts
my ankle. He'd probably be sitting every fifth day if his ankle was 100%, but is getting extra days off when facing lefties to let him heal up some more.
