problem with big hurt is he's always hurt. he'll be on a hot streak and then sit out a few cause he pulled/tweaked something. hopefully he'll stop getting hurt since i just picked him up.

A year wrap-up seemed in order on these two. Dunn did his usual late season dive, a full fledged trend over the past few years. They ended up

Player AB R H HR RBI BB SB BA OBP SLG
Dunn 561 99 131 40 92 112 7 0.2335 0.3651 0.4902
Thomas 466 77 126 39 114 81 0 0.2704 0.3810 0.5451

Pretty close, and rihgt on where most folks predicted, but Thomas clearly was the better value, again what most thought during the season, too.

maybe I'll learn how to make tables some day. :*)

I don't think projecting those 2 guys to have equal AB's is accurate because there's no way Thomas will have as many plate appearances as Dunn.

I think the point is you get the same amount of production in the time Thomas is healthy.

I think they are very close but Thomas has been so injury prone that it is difficult for me to expet an enitre year out of him again.

Thomas is the better hitter before, now and in the future. It is his health body that will prevent him from beating Dunn again.

Supposedly, Brits use that term often as well. I prefer "homey" as it has a much friendlier feel to it.

Well Thomas was well handled by the A's and put up great numbers. If he stays with them, I think he has the ability to put up similar numbers. He won't reach 500 ABs, but if he's putting up the numbers he did, who cares?
