I had Papelbon ready to add on my team after he got his first save and decided to check what the fine folks of the Cafe had to say about it, and I was sniped from behind.
You think I would have learned, but the same damn thing happened when I was ready to add Verlander. I had waited two days until he completed a start in early May and then was about to add him when I went to the Cafe again, and same result.
Like everyone I did not pickup Liriano. However I didn't because I wanted to see if I could get Cole Hamels and then I would see if I needed him. Of course someone picked him up and then I lost out on Hamels.
Dropped Dye for either Hawpe or Rios...I don't remember.
Did not pickup Paps because I though Foulke was the closer.
That's it for now. I made some good moves on my pitching staff though that has gotten me through.
Drafted Gagne and Sheets.
Dropped Huff a week before he started heating up (I had sat on him since the beginning of the season (but at least I got zimmerman for him.)
Held onto Miceli too long.
It's funny, every single person I've dropped has gotten scooped up off of waivers:
Kearns, Mench, Hawpe, Cain, Huff....yet no one will trade with me.
He blew a SV, then I read an article saying that the Mariners wanted Guardado to return to the closers role eventually, then he picked up a random SV (when Putz had not worked the previous day). So I thought I was ahead of the game and dropped him for Camp who had just got 2 SV...now THAT was a bad move.
2nd worst, was getting Rios snaked out from under me off the WW...dont ask.
