Castrating Sex Offenders

Too anyone who thinks it's "cruel" punishment go ask that child when they are about 14 and up and start to realize what happen to them. That kind of stuff scar's children for life. I've been around people who where molested and it takes YEARS to fix there emotions sometimes longer. All because one "perv" couldnt keep his thing in his pants.

If Castration is what they think will work have them form a line, I got a old straight edge razor and a box of rubber gloves. I wouldnt mind teaching those pervs a lesson.

If an offender thinks castration would help to prevent him from acting on his impulses again, then I'd be all for allowing him to have the procedure done medically. However, I don't think that it should be within a judge's (or anyone else's) power to sentence it. It's bad policy for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that only a small percentage of sexual assualts are actually committed with the genitals.

This guy's actions proves that sex offenders can't be rehabilitated. More of us than will admit are in favor of capital punishment for rapists and pedophiles.

I'm surprised this hasn't sparked conversation about whether this is a reasonable sentence for sex offenders.

I guess the fact that he chopped off his own marbles probably took precedence.

Of course it's not reasonable! He's in jail so that he can't have sex anymore (unless he likes being somebody's). From my understanding, sex offenders of all types are not treated very well in jail. Don't give him the emotional satisfaction of mutilating himself and we, as a society, certain shouldn't stoop to the level of letting him do it.

Almost all sex offenders have some kind of personality or social disorder. Their imbalance is beyond rehabilitation for the most part, as was suggested. I don't know what should be done... special jails? Hard labor? I don't know. I just don't think we have the authority to decide what body parts should get cutoff for certain crimes... maybe we can start lopping off hands of shoplifters in Wal-Mart.

I don't know but I don't think cutting off your balls is really a quick fix to keep you from molesting people. Its more a psychological issue I'd assume.

Here's an idea - let's ship the offenders overseas.
