Rotoworld and Fanball have both confirmed that the Diamondbacks have optioned incumbent closer Jose Valverde to their Triple-A affiliate in Tucson.

Really. A total implosion.

He should have been cut weeks ago though as it was obvious with each horrible appearance he was not coming back to the closers role anytime soon.

Is this the same guy who in 36+IP after the break last year saved 14 game with 1.24ERA 0.80WHIP and 42Ks? Not to mention 15 scoreless innings in September... :,-(
