Not a fan of Bonds, but I can tell you that if it's the Topps rookie, it's not worth as much as you might think.

These days, rookie cards don't usually have so much value unless they are professionally graded. This whole getting cards professionally graded thing drove me out of card collecting altogether. Getting cards graded just isn't too convenient for casual collectors.

why not? i really don't know much about cards.
Back then Topps didn't limit the number of cards they printed. Meaning that there are plenty of Topps cards running around. The more there are, the less each one is worth. That's why it's such a big deal nowadays when the number of cards printed is limited. Fewer cards make them worth more.

Another factor is that in the late 80's, cards were produced in such quantities that their values are often a lot lower than you'd expect (not only by Topps).
Whether that's better or worse for collectors than the ultra-rare, ultra-expensive numbered inserts you see these days is another matter...

I vote worse. It's part of why I quit collecting. It just got to a point for me where the cards were just too expensive to collect.
