Where should I tinker? Who should I sell high?

Postby GoatCurse03 » Mon Jul 03, 2006 4:11 pm

12 team, mixed, 5x5 (OPS in place of Avg). Swapping 1st and 2d place with another team, trade deadline 7/31. Where should I protect my team's performance? Who would you sell high and why? Thanks. Let me know if I can help on yours.

It would be nice if you could get some more depth at SP or maybe try to trade Tex for a decent bat/decent SP (I don't know, there must be some people out there willing to pay a decent price for Tex?).

You seem to be pretty well set at C (unless you start 2, you could deal one of them, as both are top 10 guys.), 2B (gotta love Uggy!), OF, and RP. Your starters are also good, but seem to be one more ace away from where you would want them to be. You have two underachievers at each of SS and 3B, so maybe you could find a willing partner who needs help at one of those positions and trade your surplus guy. The problem is, the value on all of them is pretty low right now. If you could find a buyer for Tex, you could always move Dunn to 1B. Maybe find someone who needs a 3B and package something like Tex/Ensberg for a stud OF (Berkman?) and a decent depth SP? Or find someone who needs a C and package Pierzynski and Tex for a better bat. A 2-for-1 option could be what the doctor ordered for you SS problem--Crosby/Ensberg for MYoung?

That being said, I like your team and think that your weak areas aren't that bad. You should contend with this group. Unfortunately, you seem to lack stability in the places where you have the most depth (but hey, isn't that probably why you have all that depth there in the first place?)

Good luck.
