1) Won't happen with the Yankees injuries #1, and #2, Cubs aren't getting a $25 million player when they're like 20 games under .500. I doubt they'd trade him under other circumstances either.
I think A-Rod would hit .320 with 55 homers as a Cub. If the Cubs want to take some of the spotlight back, that would be the right move. The Tribune Company could afford him.
Ha Ha Ha. A Rod to the cubs? Why on earth would there be such a deal. Good players get dealt to contenders for prospects from teams who suck, not the other way around.
I will be shocked if the Braves deal Jones for young pitching that is listed on the site as well, but if Arod moves, WOW. I don't think either will happen though as I just don't see the Braves as sellers just yet.
A-Ram, (Jaque Jones or Juan Piere) and Greg Maddux for A-Rod... I could see that. A-Rod would be a MONSTER in Wrigley. That's a park that an all-fields power guy was made for... Or Make it Lee instead and have A-ram at 3rd and A-Rod at short.
And the Cubs have some OFs on the farm to give up a good OF.
Everybody ... write your congressman, or whomever. Tell him/her that we need to get Kid Wonderful out of New York and playing SS in Wrigley. George can swallow 15 million per of any deal. Anything, just get him out of that awful organization ...
hmmm
Maybe Selig can use the best interests of baseball clause ... what ever it takes ...
