He's been on fire lately and seems like a much better option than Jeremy Reed who's been a huge bust for the Mariners. Now that Jeremy Reed's likely going on the DL with a broken thumb, it might be time for a new era in centerfield. If he gets called up, he could be quite useful for fantasy leagues being as he's a high prospect and stole 40 bases in 2004 and hit for 315

He's batting leadoff this year for the Rainiers. Before that, I'm not sure

Choo's only real competition is Chris Snelling, a decent hitter who hits 3rd in the lineup and can play CF too. We'll see pretty soon what they decide. Choo has great defense and a cannon arm so he just makes the most sense

Choo is readily available in Yahoo leagues. Is he worth a speculative pick-up on teams in need of SB?

Also, what can insiders (flowbee?) share about this kid. His stats seem reminiscent of Carl Crawford... ;-D

He's only worth adding if he gets called up of course. Not a sure thing...Jeremy Reed will not lose his job to injury, I think he's already lost his job to poor hitting the last 2 years. We just need to bite the bullet and admit we got screwed with that Freddy Garcia trade

Per Rotoworld...

The Mariners believe Jeremy Reed broke his right thumb while attempting a diving catch on Sunday. He is scheduled to see a hand specialist in Seattle on Monday.
It will be interesting to see how the Mariners play this. Shin-Soo Choo has played well lately and Chris Snelling has also seen time in center field for Triple-A Tacoma. Either would be a preferable option to usual fill in Willie Bloomquist while Reed is out.

Logically, one has to ask what type of player Snelling is?
