More on Harden's situation from the sfgate http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.c ... JONE21.DTL
The most serious of those remains Rich Harden's sprained ulnar collateral ligament, especially considering that Harden has been shut down from throwing for a week because he felt some pain in the elbow after making 30 throws from 75 feet Sunday.
Goldman, however, reiterated what he said last month: The injury will not require surgery. In fact, the injury is not one for which there is a surgical option, according to Goldman, because the ligament has not been pulled away at all.
"Part of it is strained, but it is stable and it is not operable,'' Goldman said. "There is nothing that is going to make it heal faster.''
Goldman said Harden's elbow is "certainly better than it was,'' but there is no way to tell how long it will be before the right-hander can throw full-force.
"There's nothing we can do except wait and watch,'' Goldman said. "There's nothing we're doing that is not right.''
And yes the A's are very untrueful when it comes to disclosing injuries.
