Guess this news is the best that could be hoped for, but always worriesome when a guy whose main value is SB gets a foot or leg injury.
From the Orioles website:
Patterson sits: Corey Patterson was out of the lineup for Sunday's game after fouling a ball off his right foot during Saturday's game, but he is not expected to miss any extended period of time.
Patterson has been keeping the tender foot iced and will undergo X-rays as a precautionary measure. However, the Baltimore outfielder does not expect to be out of the lineup for more than a day or two.
"I think I'll be OK, it just got me in a good spot last night," Patterson said. "I've done it before actually in the same spot and with the same result. It just needs to be treated and iced."
Despite the sore foot, Perlozzo has not ruled out using Patterson as a pinch-hitter in Sunday's game. Patterson said that he doesn't expect his foot to bother him much in the batter's box, it will be a concern for him if he is forced to run.
"He's a potential pinch-hitter," Perlozzo said. "He's getting some treatment so if he comes around, we might be able to use him later. He's a little tender."
