Crede injured?

Is Crede injured. I heard he was going to miss time, but haven't seen an update on him on cbs or rotoword.

He was 3/5 with a solo home run yesterday and there was nothing in Yahoo's game notes about an injury.

Thanks dundee...not only is Crede sitting today but I was able to swap in Youkilis from my bench in time to have him lead off the game with a solo homer for me.

Is he just sitting or is he injured? I still haven't been able to find anything on him.

My guess just based on what you said is something minor that didn't warrant coverage anywhere but convinced Ozzie to hold him out for a day.

Two run pinch hit home run...guess he's ok.

No injury whatsoever. Crede was simply benched because he was 1-for-18 in his career against Cubs starter Carlos Zambrano.

He did enter in the 7th and ended up 1-for-2 with a 2-run homer.

But because he was benched I also benched him.

what do people project for crede for the rest of the year?

I am thinking of dropping bartolo colon for him.

Can Crede maintain a good batting average all year? He would be a bench/sub player for me. Would probably only play two days a week unless there's an injury. As such, I really have no use for him if he can't maintain a decent batting average.

Crede is doing this with a .289 BABIP. While I don't think he's been unlucky to post this he's just a much better hitter than he's been in the past. He's driving the ball more whereas in the past he used to hit a lot of pop-ups. He's also striking out a lot less. I would say he should be able to easily carry a .290 average if not a .300 assuming he doesn't hit a stretch of bad luck.

It doesn't hurt to be batting after guys who have big obp #s. He's usually up to bat with runners on or just after a pitcher get his confidence shattered by Dye or somebody.

One thing the Sox do really well is mix up the lefties and the righties in the batting order too. It makes it harder for the other manager to pull the trigger on pitcher changes, and sometimes that means they leave a guy in too long.
