I've read a few things on this board about this kid getting called up.....is there truth to this and is he worth grabbing now?

I alsready have ROOKIE PITCHERS on my team and so far nothing great. Hamels and Sowers are both on my team.

ROTOWORLD
In his season debut, Tom Gorzelanny yielded two runs in five innings and struck out six against the Tigers on Saturday.
Gorzelanny gave up six hits and walked three, so he wasn't particularly sharp. Still, he gave the Pirates a chance to win, and they scored seven runs after he left to prevail 9-2. Gorzelanny will get the Mets in his next start. It should be OK to use him in NL-only leagues.

depending how deep your league size, team/roster I think you can take a stab on him.......

The kid is pretty good. Now i haven't seen him pitch yet so i can't be sure, but he had better stats at AAA than Duke did last year before getting called up. Hes strikes a hell of a lot more people out and has really refined his control, lets see if it can last. Oh and if you are worried about rookie pitchers on your team i have Hamels, Shields, Weaver, Reyes, and Gorzelanny on my team right now...

I watched the game. His off-speed stuff is good and he has a nice fastball...a bit of movement and he can ramp it up to about 96. I really liked that he pitched mostly in the 91-92 range though...shows he's not just going out there and letting it all hang out on every pitch.

His control was pretty spotty and I wouldn't want to send him out there in 12 team mixed leagues yet. Probably wouldn't even pick him up. But from what I saw he's worth keeping an eye on in 12 team mixed and probably worth picking up if you have an open reserve spot in deeper leagues - I just wouldn't start him yet in any format.
