Update
Sheets (right shoulder) said that he felt good enough that he thought he could be back in the rotation in a few weeks, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

sounds like talk of a return shortly after the all-star break is indeed the case

Ben Sheets (shoulder) is scheduled to throw in the bullpen today and if that goes well, he will next pitch a simulated game sometime next week.
Sheets said he would expect to then be sent to a rehab assignment in the minors. "I'm feeling really good," Sheets said. "I've had some big strides. I feel really good right now. I'm not 100% but I'm pretty close."

pretty close to 100% sounds very encouraging :-) :-)

At this point, if he can come back sometime in July and have a strong second half, I would consider it a blessing. ;-D

Sheets was one of my five keepers from 2005 and has done diddly-squat. At least he had the good sense to go right on the DL so I could pick up a replacement -- unlike turds like Doug Davis, who have just stunk up my active roster since opening day. Someone please put that clown out of his misery. :-P

This guy owes us big. I hope our patience is rewarded with a half season of brilliance.

I agree. If Sheets can come back and put up a 3.00 era with about 8.50 to 9 k/9 and a 1.20 whip, that is better than any trade I can make.

Yep, he is without a doubt the second best pitcher in the league when healthy (I'd take him over Pedro). Can't wait, hope our good judgement in taking this guy gets paid off.
