The league average is 11% though and he's no slouch power-wise so I'd assume he could at least make it back to there.
You pretty much contradicted yourself there.

No, I think he'll make it back to the league average of 11%. His plate discipline isn't good enough to support the 12-13%. Sorry if the wording was a bit confusing there.
Ok I got it, thanks for clearing that up.

To me there are only 3 explanations:
1-He is slow in returning to form and just needs more time to get comfortable at the plate. Those hits turn into doubles and homers in the second half and we see what we expected from Cantu
2-Pitchers are making him chase and he is rolling over ground balls and striking out rather than waiting for good pitchers to drive. He is getting anxious at the plate to get out of his funk and it's making him worse. He either makes adjustments or sinks his fantasy owners.
3-Complete fluke. His first half was an outlier of sorts. He ramps up his game and next year these first 3 months are just a blip for his career.
Don't ask me to pick one though because I really haven't a clue. I haven't seen him play lately either. It sure seemed like he was doing well in the Classic and I was antipating good things from him this season.

I saw him play yesterday , and although he took another donut he hit 2 wicked line drives that were unfortunately right at somebody. If he keeps putting the wood to the ball, he should be fine.
I subscribe to the "getting back in the groove" theory and hope I'm right!
