I have not heard a thing on his arm since Thursday. Is he going to make his next start or go on the DL?

Last I heard he was planning on making his next start. Patterson or the Nats didn't sound too worried about. Just saying how it was a "dead arm" thing like pitchers might routinely experience in spring training. And they were saying this is kind of like his ST now, so they aren't concerned ... at least for now they're not :-o

I watched the game and I am a Patterson owner as well. The announcers did not indicated a pitch count. It was very hot and humid at the game though. He was very effective, the hits he did give up were slow rollers and cue shots.

I can not remember what his velocity was prior to his injury or last year. Today he topped out at 91 or 92, but his fastball was consistently in the 88 or 89 range. His curve was nasty but he did not throw many.

I just get the idea from watching the game something is not right. I am hoping it is just arm strength issue, but how long does it take to build arm strength. I figure, if it was arm strength he should be increases his pitch count every time out, but this does not seem to be the case.

I still haven't activated him since I have a couple of decent pitchers in my staff and it's hard to cut loss. You guys think now it's the time to activate him?

Patterson threw five innings in Tuesday's game. He said his arm is okay, but his sore forearm is causing his fastball to tail instead of rise. "If you watch how my ball's reacting, it's tailing," Patterson said. "It's moving more like a sinker, where normally it rises in the strike zone."
