What up with Tex? I thought he'd have a huge 2nd half but he seems to just be hitting enough to tease us. Another 0-3 tonight. I'm thinking of dropping him and picking up Nick Johnson.

I dropped him yesterday ... I picked him up largely due to raves in this forum .. I think he'll be a fine player over the long run, but now he's just a slow .250 guy with slightly better than average power.

I think his value lies in Keeper Leagues only thus far. Maybe that will change next year.

I agree. In a couple of years Tex may be a stud, but I wouldn't give him much pt this year. He's been streaky so if he gets on a tear for another week or so, you could ride him out for awhile...

I also dropped Koskie (injured at the time) for Teixeira, partly based on the enthusiasm for Tex on this board. Koskie hasn't hit a HR since returning from the DL, but he has hit consistently and stolen 3 bases in the 11 games back (only 1 less than Pierre!)

Teixiera's stats other than BA have been decent recently (6 R, 4 RBI in his last 7 games), but yeah, if I wanted a low-BA third baseman, I would have kept Batista!
