Annie (or Ante) up... Best deal for a Rookie???

"Annie Up" is indeed a regional variation of Ante Up.... In Appalacia. !+)

If I were at a poker table and someone without a hint of irony asked me to "Annie Up," I'd leave ....

Regardless, I got Rich Harden for Greg Maddux. To date that has been a good deal. It looked even better last night.

Texas hold 'em is the only way to go for the best poker. Anyway,

I dealt Trachesel/Ichiro for Halladay/Pierre before the season started. :-D

Btw: If someone says "Annie up" at a poker table, they are asking for their money to be taken :-D .
Yes doctor, I am sick.

Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Maybe I should change the thread title to reflect the discussion on poker etiquette and interpretation. :-D

I agree with several posters. First of all, I got Kevin Brown for Gil Meche and Melvin Mora (just before the injury).

Secondly, as far as regional jargon goes, do you say ain't instead of isn't? That makes you sound like a fool to anyone outside of the deep south. "Annie up" is even more foolish. It's ante!
Looking at the ball going over the fence isn't going to help.

Tough crowd -- amazing the arguments to be had when there is little going on in the sports world...
