Brand new to FBCF - rate my team!

Postby accobra_kid » Wed Jun 28, 2006 11:44 pm

Hi! I'm brand new to this forum as of a few minutes ago. I'm an avid baseball fan, but this is my first year of fantasy baseball. Anyone have a minute or two to critique my team?

Yahoo, 11-team Rotisserie
Position Stats: H, R, HR, RBI, AVG, OBP, SB
Pitching Stats: IP (capped at 1250), W, CG, SV, K, ERA, WHIP

C - Mauer (MIN)
1B - Howard (PHI)
2B - Roberts (BAL)
3B - Rolen (STL)
SS - Ramirez (FLA)
OF - Rios (TOR)
OF - Suzuki (SEA)
OF - Cuddyler (MIN)
Util - Hafner (CLE)
BN - Hillenbrand (TOR)
BN - Uggla (FLA)
BN - Sanchez (PIT)
BN - Drew (LAD)

SP - Halladay (TOR)
SP - Santana (MIN)
P - Rodriguez (LAA)
P - Jenks (CHW)
P - Fuentes (COL)
RP - Coffey (CIN)
RP - Wickman (CLE)
BN - Kazmir (TB)

I'm leading the league right now by a considerable margin (25 pts). I'm top 1-2 in all categories except HR and SB. I was last in SB before trading for Ichiro, Roberts and Ramirez, so hopefully I continue to rise there. RBI is a tight category. I'm also right on target to meet my IP for the year.

I want to make sure I stay on top through October. Any advice on who to dump for the second half?

I've been offered (just tonight):
Get: Glaus (TOR), Street (OAK) and Colon (LAA)
Give: Sanchez (PIT), Rodriguez (LAA) and Kazmir (TB)

This is a no brainer, right? I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it. I doubt Kazmir will win 20, and Colon will surely return to form soon. If not, I can always dump some yutz like Uggla and pick up some SP on the wire (Robertson (DET), Johnson (FLA), Moyer (SEA) and others are still available). Glaus is a huge upgrade at SS. The RP swap is immaterial, in my opinion.

Thanks to those who take the time to comment. This looks like a great board!

Not a bad team at all really IMO. If anything I think you could use maybe one more power hitter and Glaus could give you that but I would at least look at the trade broken down...

Glaus >> Sanchez (but I thought Glaus was only eligible @ 3B)
K-Rod >> Street (could be close though)
Colon and Kamir=tie.

Tie just b/c you don't know how Colon will bounce back this year, and if Kazmir gets dealt by trade deadline to a better team could mean a lot better numbers. He'll get W's and K's now too. I dunno how many SP's you have to go w/ every week. I think the only real reason to do the trade is for Glaus right now. May be worth it if you can pick up another somewhat reliable SP just in case b/c you have relievers.
