MMORPGs

Just wondering if anyone is big on the MMOs and which ones they've played/liked.

First one I played was Star Wars Galaxies when it came out. I bought it when it came out, got pretty addicted, then realized that it was horribly broken and quit.

Next one I got was World of Warcraft when it came out and I just recently got my char to level 60. Yeah it took a long time but I just can't put in the time that some other gamers do. Still, I gotta say I like it. It seems pretty polished especially after seeing how bad MMOs can be with SWG.

Thinking about getting LOTR when it comes out to try something new.

The only one I played was a free one on the internet and it was pretty cool stuff. I don't remember the name.

I don't like paying monthly fee's so I stay away from those games

I think I've played most of them. ;-)

Asheron's Call 1 - My first mmorpg. It was very innovative and fun to play. The evolving storyline kept me playing for 2 years.

Asheron's Call 2 - Total opposite of AC1. Best graphics I've ever seen but zero gameplay value.

Star Wars Galaxies - Became a super crafter and supplied half my server in medical supplies. Once I started putting in 40+ hour weeks for just crafting I had to quit.

Anarchy Online - Played at release but so buggy I quit.

City of Heroes - Hella fun game. Just too shallow.

World of Warcraft - Nice game, but bores me to tears.

Everquest 2 - I don't like games with forced grouping.

Guild Wars - Great game, but pvp felt meaningless.

Eve Online (currently playing this one) - Wildly innovative. Set in space, the game is simply ruthless. PvP is non-consensual and death means the loss of your spaceship which can be quite costly.

I can go on and on about how awesome this game is, but instead check out,

Started in various MUDs I won't get into.

Then I wasted about I think 6 years of my life on Everquest. I worked the whole time but when I was off I played. Didn't sleep much. At the end I was still playing out of habit more than anything.

Tried Dark Age of Camelot during my EQ timeframe but the game was buggy and I got tired of trying to log in and it crashing.

Beta'd EQ2, it was ok but eh

Tried Anarchy Online, graphics were very bleh which turned me off quick.

Played City of Villains, who doesn't like being an evil superhero?

Went to World of Warcraft with my wife, got kinda monotonous after a bet, so I went back to CoV.

Waiting for Vanguard to come out, some 19 races, the original game designer from EQ. Should be nice

Dragon Fang I spent the most time at. A Robert Jordan based one. Shanghai was, ummm, slightly interesting. Played a few DnD ones that I can't recall

Ive never played an MMO but I will whenever the comic book MMO's are released. Marvel and DC will be launching MMO's based in their own universe. It should make for a very interesting take consider both have a set history to play off.
