I'm seriously doubting Hamels' worthiness of a roster spot in any league this season, other than dynasty and keeper. I rushed to use my #1 waiver spot on him because of his cult-like following by both the media and members of the Cafe alike, and have been sorely disappointed. Many less-touted pitchers belonging to this year's rookie class have enjoyed more success than Hamels, including Reyes, Weaver, Billingsley, Johnson, and Lester, just to name a few.
Through 5 innings today, Hamels has given up 7 earned runs to Baltimore, along with 9 hits and 3 walks. Keep in mind, this is an Orioles team that is collectively hitting .227 against lefties on the year with a putrid .376 slugging percentage! Cole is also just two starts removed from giving up 5 earned runs (6 total) to the Devil Rays in 3.2 innings.
Logically, the question fantasy owners have to objectively ask themselves is if Hamels' performance truly warrants a roster spot. He may have all the potential in the world, which I don't doubt, however, I'm quickly losing patience and feel that there are many others in the ship with me. Perhaps the jump from AA to the ML-level was just too quick for Cole to handle...?
Thoughts?

Is he even worth staching in a 10 team league that keeps half of our 30 guys? Im seriously starting to doubt even that...I coulda picked up Meche 2 weeks ago and gotten instant, and possibly long term returns, instead of the garbage numbers this chump is producing...
