Hopefully his endurance has improved. Recall last year he was pretty much useless in the later part of the season and even missed some time with the reason cited as arm fatigue.

Not pitching in Texas might help a bit there though...it gets REALLY hot and humid there in the summer. San Diego's weather is a bit better.
Ive loved his production and Im not gonna try and trade him, His numbers are pretty impressive and he could turn out to be like a 2004 Ben Sheets-type pitcher, who goes from unknown to stud in one season if he continues like this. The only numbers that are less than impressive are his walks, he seems to have cut down on the HR's and hes been lights out.
Anyone see him being a top 15 pitcher next year.
I picked him up in the 15th round because of all the hype surrounding him in the cafe, but I didnt expect him to pitch like a top 10 pitcher.

His component numbers (97ip, 88k, 37bb, 14hr) project to a 4.21 era and a 1.270 whip and that's being VERY generous and assuming hitters only put balls in play at a .280 clip against him...given his fly ball tendencies that's not out of the question though.
He's outperforming his skills thanks to luck up to this point. I think he'll progress some on the hr's and bb's - as he gets a bit more experienced he'll probably get some more ground balls as well as lowering the walks. I still think my pre-season expectations that he would pitch like a mid to high 3's era pitcher with a 1.24'ish whip and a great k/9 is about where he'll end up skill-wise. His skills are a bit worse than that right now and his results are quite a bit better but in the end I think that's about what you can expect out of him.
I don't think he'll get anywhere near the top-15 next year but if he really made progress with his command without sacrificing the strikeouts he could possibly get to that point.
