Gagne update...............

Postby mcd285 » Tue Jun 27, 2006 9:48 am

i am sure everyone is as tired of this up and down news on gagne as i am, but is sounds encouraging.

per yahoo

Jun 27 The Los Angeles Daily News' Tony Jackson reports Los Angeles Dodgers CL Eric Gagne (elbow) no longer is feeling pain in his surgically repaired right elbow and has begun the strengthening portion of his latest rehabilitation program. While there still is hope he could return before the All-Star break, he isn't scheduled to begin throwing until at least June 30.

Ill believe it when I see it.

Just an opinion but I think Gagne is done for the year, maybe longer.
Basically I'm complicated.
I have a hard time taking the easy way
I wouldn't call it schizophrenia
But Ill be at least two people today

If that's OK

And I can go on, and on, and on...

But who cares?

it's hard to give up on him when some of us traded for him a little high or wasted a high waiver for him. plus this new news thing on yahoo saying he wont be back for "several weeks" and that he hasnt even pitched yet worries me so much.

right now, for me, i have julio/putz/otsuka/wagner pulling down saves for me, but gagne would be SUCH a lift. i cant just "give up on him."
"I dont know who the Royals will have in centerfield now that Estebean German took one in the mouth on a fly ball. Probably Kerry Robinson which means that the Royals start with one out every 3 innings."

I picked the guy up off the FA wire, and he's just sitting in my DL spot. What's to give up on? If he's ever Eric Gagne again, it's a steal. If not, who cares...nothing lost. It's not like we're one of those obsessed Oliver Perez owners. Those guys need counseling.

Eric Gagne (elbow) says he is "100 percent sure" he will pitch again this season.
(Updated7/02/2006)
IMPACT
Gagne had to call off a throwing session on Friday due to his sore elbow. He won't attempt to throw until his elbow is completely pain-free.

Yeah, he is doing pretty well huh O:-)

From KFFL:
Jul 2 Ken Gurnick, of Dodgers.MLB.com, reports Los Angeles Dodgers P Eric Gagne (elbow) is not ready to pitch and that there is no timetable at this point as to when he might return. "He's still not in position where he can throw the ball. He's still got some pain," Dodgers manager Grady Little said. "He's not always in sight, but he's working hard. Him not being able to pitch is hurting him worse than anyone. He's doing his best to get back there to pitch."

I would love to get him back, but I want him to come back healthy. He can take as long as he wants. If he comes back in August in time for the fantasy play-offs, it will be a HUGE lift for my team.

The way I see it, when managing a fantasy baseball team you have to keep two things in mind (1) how much a player is going to help you now in the regular season and (2) how much a player is going to help you at the end of the year when you need that extra push.

Gagne is a player that falls in the (2) category. If he comes back this year and is even 80% as effective as he was two years ago, he will be well worth all of the time he sat on my bench.
