A pretty good C option... He's been hot lately. He's got jeff Mathis down on the farm breathing down his neck though, but for a young pitcher, his #s are fantasitic. The last month, he's had 6 dinger and a 447 obp. That ain't bad.

Big RBI double tonight against the Rockies. He has a nice swing for a C, but the Angels aren't getting people on base. If their team offense heats up a little, I may conscider picking Napoli up.

He's another guy the Angels can deal. Supposedly, Mathis is a better prospect than Napoli.

165ab's in 03 with 4hrs 26 rbi's .267 avg Single A

482ab's in 04 with 29hrs 118 rbi's .282 avg Single A

442ab's in 05 with 31hr's 100 rbi's .240 avg Double AA

HUGE offense for a catcher!!!

I think Mathis has his hands full on getting this job from Nap.

He has made some bonehead throwing decisions at catcher that have hurt them at key moments, but boneheaded plays can be fixed a lot easier than bad fielding fundamentals. To his credit, Napoli's bad plays were in trying to make great plays, but sometimes, it's best to get the easy out or don't try and throw a guy out at 2nd when their's a guy at 3rd and there's 2 outs and K'Rod is dealing anyway, that sort of thing.

I think it's just rookie enthusiasm more than anything. When you blow a game making a bad throw you shouldn't have made to begin with, that sort of thing tends to not be forgotten and you get a little more conservative next time and let K-Rod win the game instead of you.

But boy he sure can hit. What I like is, (1) the look on his face when he's up to bat. He's got a "come on meat, throw it" look to him, and (2) He hits it where it's pitched and isn't trying to go yard on pitches he can't.

Tough call... depends if the Angels get another AB or not. Napoli is hitting better than Varitek, but Varitek gets more RBI ops now....

Depends on where you're need is greatest too. If Avg. is what you want, go with Napoli. If the Angels trade up to improve their lineup, Napoli should get more RBI ops as well.

I dropped Willingham when he was hurt, someone else picked him up, and he was just dropped again for Johjima (or however you spell his name)...Napoli has been AWESOME, actually my best bat last week, along with Giambi...kept me afloat with Soriano, Tejada, and Ensberg slumping hard. I'm not planning on picking up Willingham any time soon. I'm staying Nappy...
