Alright. The date is June 25th, 2006. From now on, I'm going to attempt to keep some sort of log of how my team is doing, and the steps I take in an attempt to better it.

Right now, the league standings are as follows:

League Standings:

Team 1: 94.5
Team 2: 66.5
My Team: 63
Team 4: 61.5
Team 5: 52.5
Team 6: 45.5
Team 7: 45
Team 8: 43.5
Team 9: 39.5
Team 10: 38.5

My roster:

10 Teams - Roto - 5x5 - Nonkeeper Money League

C-Michael Barrett
1B- Paul Konerko
2B- Dan Uggla
3B- Miguel Cabrera
SS- Derek Jeter
OF- Jason Bay
OF- Scott Podsednik
OF- Chad Tracy
Utl- Travis Hafner
Utl- Barry Bonds
Utl- Jorge Cantu
B- Torii Hunter
B- Randy Winn
B- Jeremy Hermida
B- Marcus Thames

SP- Jason Schmidt
SP- Barry Zito
SP- Derek Lowe
SP- John Lackey
SP- Josh Johnson
SP- Ted Lilly
RP- Mike Gonzalez
RP- Todd Coffey
RP- Jorge Sosa
RP- Jeremy Accardo

DL- Ben Sheets
DL- Tyler Walker

My position in each category:

Categories (Points Out of 10):

Runs: 8
Homeruns: 7
RBIs: 8
Stolen Bases: 2.5
Average: 10

Wins: 3
Saves: 6.5
Strikeouts: 4
ERA: 10
WHIP: 4

My team has been struggling recently. I was around 75 points a couple weeks ago, but have been sinking ever since. I'm hoping my team starts heating up again.

If anyone has any ideas on what I should do in an attempt to improve (via trade, free agency, etc.) then it would be greatly appreciated. This has been the roughest patch of the season for me so far. !+)

Get a pure base stealer, usually they aren't too expensive (think Ryan Freel) and when they steal they get em in bunches.

I would stay put for awhile - the wins will come.

How is the guy in first so far ahead? What's his roster look like?

His roster doesn't even look that great anymore. He's made so many trades (it seems like 1 gigantic deal every 2 weeks).

He has Pujols. He had Thome for most of the season (recently traded him). He traded for Sizemore and all of sudden Sizemore got insanely hot. He traded for Ichiro when he was hitting under .300, and then traded him away two days ago with his average at .360.

It's just insane. He's got a 9 or a 10 in almost every category. I got reasonably close to him about 3 weeks ago. He had around 80 or so and I had about 75.

He's not really KILLING anyone in the categories, he's just leading them. If my team or Team #2 has a big surge, we could catch him in alot of things, it just hasn't worked out that way for us.

I'm not sure what to do. I wanted to trade some offense for an ace pitcher (wins/strikeouts) and a closer, but now my offense is doing poorly too, so I'm not sure if I can afford to trade a Hafner or Konerko type.

I'm lost right now as to what to do. !+)

Just made a monster trade. Traded Miguel Cabrera, Barry Zito, Barry Bonds, Jorge Cantu, Todd Coffey and Jorge Sosa. I got Pedro Martinez, Trevor Hoffman, Huston Street and Brian Roberts.

Here's my team now...

10 Teams - Roto - 5x5 - Nonkeeper Money League

C-Michael Barrett
1B- Paul Konerko
2B- Dan Uggla
3B- Chad Tracy
SS- Derek Jeter
OF- Jason Bay
OF- Scott Podsednik
OF- Torii Hunter
Utl- Travis Hafner
Utl- Brian Roberts
Utl- Jeremy Hermida
B- Marcus Thames
B- Randy Winn
B- empty (so far)

SP- Pedro Martinez
SP- Jason Schmidt
SP- John Lackey
SP- Derek Lowe
SP- Josh Johnson
SP- Ted Lilly
RP- Trevor Hoffman
RP- Huston Street
RP- Mike Gonzalez
RP- Jeremy Accardo
B- empty (so far)

DL- Ben Sheets
DL- Tyler Walker

I addressed all my needs with the deal. I lost M-Cab, which hurts, but he was probably only the 3rd or 4th most important/productive hitter on my roster, so I'm hoping it won't hurt me too bad.

I got an ace pitcher which should help me alot with strikeouts and WHIP. I got Brian Roberts to help me in my one weak offensive category, stolen bases. I also got 2 top tier closers to help me catch up in saves, and also lower my WHIP.

I gave up alot but I think it helped my team's needs...
