There as been some debate as to how to properly prepare a steak amongst myself and some of my friends. For instance, I have a friend whose parents actually work on a cow farm, or some kind of farm, I don't know, whatever it is, they have cows. When she told me she ONLY eats her steaks well done, i'd have to say I was surprised. I've seen people order steaks done before and so what, more power to you; but I worked as a server in a restaurant for a little while and when a customer would order a nice juicy steak well done, he'd throw it on the grill and yell "Great, another steak ruined!"
Back to the cow farm friend, she says well done steaks are great if "properly seasoned." I'm not sure what that means, but a great steak shouldn't even need to be seasoned (although it never hurts). I understand some people have an aversion to bloody meat, or red meat altogether (your dirty hippy vegans you) but part of the problem also seems to be an irrational fear of contamination. Hell, my grandfather ate carpaccio (uncooked beef tenderloin) his whole life, and never got sick.
