Huge Trade

Postby Bender » Thu Apr 25, 2002 1:34 pm

Remeber I made that trade with that guy with Barry Bonds involved, well he just made this blockbuster:

Appier, Kevin (SP-Ana)
Bonds, Barry (LF-SF)
Hidalgo, Richard (CF, RF, LF-Hou)
Lee, Carlos (LF, DH-CWS)
Spivey, Junior (2B-Ari)
Williams, Bernie (CF-NYY)

for:

Berkman, Lance (LF, CF-Hou)
Boone, Bret (2B-Sea)
Polanco, Placido (3B, SS, 2B-StL)
Urbina, Ugueth (RP-Bos)
Zito, Barry (SP-Oak)

I guess he didn't like his team :-D

Wow... that's my kind of trade. Actually, that probably tops anything I've ever done. Don't think I've ever tried to unload a complete outfield with three more players on top... That's bound to set your league abuzz.

I know it depends on what you need, but who got the better?

I think it was the guy who traded bonds, he got zito, and berkman is very good, but it is pretty hard to compare.

Agreed, it's extremely hard to pick a winner in a trade like this. If both sides are filling needs, they should both profit. Still, I also like the side getting Berkman/Zito/etc. slightly more, if only because it's uncertain that Bonds will be at 100%. There are enough unknowns here (especially Boone's performance), though, that this guess could be way off the mark.
