Dunn and Burrell theories

Any theories why Dunn and Burrell have been terrible this year?

Both of them are prime examples of "all or nothing" hitters---either they crush the ball or they don't. Add to that the fact that they are young and unlikely to change their approach at the plate and you get the result of pitchers not going to give them anything to hit. As long as they chase bad pitches, why give them something fat?

si think there's still time for dunn and burrell to give us something this year. burrell is starting to hit a little bit. im still angry and upset at him though. if i picked someone other than pat. i would at least be in third place in my $ league.

pat isn't as all-or-nothing as dunn. he hit for decent avg. in 2002 and looked to be steadily improving. i'm not sure what's wrong with him this season, but he looks to be turning things around. better late than never i guess.

I picked him up last year in early May off of waivers. He was huge for me. He kept his average up pretty well, at one point he was hitting .315. I wanted to draft him this year but someone beat me to him, lucky for me.

Yeah. He's raised his average from .201 on July 1 to .204 as of today. woooo hooo, Pat is on fire.

Well it is hard to ..

Basically Pitching Coaches sat down with a lot of video tape over the winter and adjusted "The Book". and these are not the type of batters that can adjust. Their swings are too long.
