Our taxes are paying to find out if pelicans are/were drunk in a state that has massive defecits in almost all areas.

Yeah, I had seen that off of local news here a few days back. Some of the poisoned pelicans were orphaned from their mothers before or during the crucial stage of diving deep into the water for fish. So, the folks at the rehab center have to get them started on diving for fish in a shallow tub or inflatable pool of water. I don't know if it's related but I heard there was a beach closure in Huntington Beach possibly because of the domoic acid chemical. Don't remember the whole story, but oh well.
