New Fantasy commissioner seeks advice

This year, my friends from college and I are all playing in fantasy league for the first time, of which i am the commissioner. One of my friends and i are having a dispute, and I wanted your advice on this. The following scenario happened, and we argued about whether it is an unequal trade (one manager is simply making a bad decision but should be allowed) or simply unfair (so outrageous it would only be only considered collusion). This is the scenario:

Manager A is currently in third place.
Manager B is in dead last.
Manager A and Manager B made a trade.
Manager A recieves Brian Roberts and Miguel Cabrera.
Manager B recieves Mike Timlin and Ben Broussard.

The leauge only has 10 teams, so there is a lot of depth on waiver including Johjima, Granderson, Morneau, etc.
as well as at pitcher, including Kris benson, Francisco Rodney, Nate Robertson, Dave Bush, etc.

Is there any circumstance where this would be considered merely unequal? Or is this Unfair collusion?

I voted collusion.

I'm assuming these plyers know what they're doing though.

It's hard to believe this is a fair trade by any means.

Would you consider sitting down with Player B and talking about it?

No you can't allow that trade. Even if team B is a clueless participant, its not fair to the rest of the league, and renders the league a joke. You as the commisioner have to maintain integrity in the league.

This is maybe the most ridiculous trade I have ever seen.


For one, why is Mike Timlin even on a team in the position to be traded.

Secondly, I play in a highly competitive 10 team pay league and Timlin and Broussard are both on the WW.

Miggy is a late first round, early second round pick across the board and a top 20 player.

And Roberts is a top 5 2B

As the commisioner you cannot let this trade happen, and shame on the 2 teams for trying to screw the rest of the league.

yeah dont let this one happen. Its way lop-sided. Trades are good for leagues because they increase participation but a bad trade like this is only going to hurt the league. Looking past the fact that it has significantly increased to value of Manager A, bad trades tend to decrease participation. If a manager continually makes bad trades and gets burned all the time he tends to put up a "no trade" wall, in which the manager becomes afraid of trading because he does not want to get burned. For the sake of your team and the league do not let this one go...
