Well it's easy to look back on peoples comments from 06 and say they were wrong, but he did hit absolute rock bottom and he didn't look like he would ever amount to anything.

In addition most posters acknowledged that he had immense talent, but doubted that he could kick the drugs. And that is what makes his story so great IMO.

Josh Hamilton's tale of going from can't-miss kid to crackhead to All-Star will hit bookshelves next month. Hamilton authored a book titled, Beyond Belief, with ESPN The Magazine's Tim Keown.

The book will be released Oct. 14. Hamilton will do a speaking event/book signing at Prestonwood Baptist Church at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 21 and a signing the next night at the Barnes & Noble in Arlington.
