Valverde's pitched very well recently, 8 K in his last 3 IP (saw it on a blurb somewhere). Apparently Melvin says he's now to be entrusted w/ late-game work--not closing, but the 7th and 8th--again. If he does well, and Julio reveals his mediocrity, then he's back on the job. I'd say, give it two weeks. If he performs well and Julio starts giving up a homer here or there, we could see another switch.

Possible. But this made the decision on who to cut to add An. Reyes real easy for me in the one league I was still stashing Valverde in.

Heh, name me one year that Julio has been a good pitcher. He is in no way a closer. He still walks too many people and gives up too many homeruns, I see an explosion coming.

I completely disagree. The key here is Julio's performance, not Valverde's. If Julio keeps pitching well, I don't care how good Valverde is he's not getting the job back. If (many people would say "when") Julio blows up, then it's up for debate, but not before.
