Brett Myers arrested

BOSTON (AP) - Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Brett Myers has been
arrested in Boston for allegedly assaulting his wife.
A spokesman for the Suffolk District Attorney's office says the
25-year-old right-hander was arrested by Boston Police early this
morning after an incident at the corner of Boylston and Dalton
Streets.
The Phillies are in Boston for a weekend series against the Red
Sox, and Myers and his wife were walking toward their hotel at the
time.
D-A spokesman David Procopio says there is evidence that Myers
struck his wife on the left side of her face.
Myers was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court this morning on a
domestic assault and battery charge. He is free on 200 dollars bail
that was posted by his wife.
A judge ordered Myers to have no contact with his wife unless
she initiates it.
Myers is 5-and-3 this season with a three-point-seven-seven
earned run average. He's scheduled to pitch for the Phillies
tomorrow at Fenway Park.

This sucks for me.
In my money league we have a rule called "The Ray Carruth Rule" which states that if one of your players gets arrested you must contribute $20 into the money pool which will eventually go to the winner.
So, not only did I bench him for his 11K performance. I started him in his 2 previous starts where he barely lasted 3 innings. Now the guy costs me a 20 spot. Serves me right having a Philly SP when I'm a Mets fan.

How dumb are these athletes. I am not saying what he did wasn't wrong but how could you slap your wife around on a street corner in Boston? It's such a cowardly thing to do!

Anyway, what is with these athletes that are usually twice as big as their wives who think they can slap their wives and the sad part is that they usually get a slap (no pun intended) on the wrist by our wonderful court system.

LOL, it's not like he's working for a company you own or anything like that. I leave the morals out of fantasy baseball, I just care what they do on the field, if it affects the way he pitches then I care.

awesome. we have this in our ffooball leagues. i just proposed this for next year in our baseball leagues...and i currently have Myers.

I know man. Trading a guy just cause he did something wrong off-field. Those issues have nothing to do with fantasy baseball, and having him on your team doesn't mean you endorse his off-field actions.
