what do you know about Chris Nelson

Postby PlayingWithFire » Thu Jun 22, 2006 8:51 pm

did all the research I can on him. looks like a toolsy type that has trouble with strike zone judgement. Was a top prospect 2 years ago but has really felled after a horrible 2005. He's doing decent but not great in the Sally league now.

What's the career outlook for him and what should I expect from him?

Nelson is a very confusing prospect. He has the tools to be very good, but just can't seem to put it together. He was one guy that was in high demand last year in my keeper league, but this year he is not on any of the 15 minor league rosters. He is somebody imo to keep your eye on, but nobody worth jumping at to pick up.

I would probably do that. Meyer's is looking like a lost cause, Garciais just a RP, and Italiano unless he can adjust his delivery and get a 3rd pitch is likely to be moved to the pen as well.

Nelson and Fowler are both very inrtiguing prospects in the Rockies system. Both have some speed and power, which Fowler is starting to showcase.

I agree here. Just throwing around some scraps for the most part but the scraps you would be getting back are better IMO. As Hybrid said, Meyer and Garcia aren't really worth having at the moment. Even though Shealy is getting old(er) he is still someone that could have nice years if given the opportunity. And Nelson/Fowler have youth on there side with some upside, though not alot IMO.

I'd accept the deal pretty easily.
