I wish I had the chance to see him more in person. I've only seen him before this year and in the futures game, neither were anything close to what his stats indicate. He has a good FB, but his breaking stuff didn't show as much promise.

Yup, he more or less sucked at the Futures Game. Decent fastball, inconsistent slider, mediocre curve. Don't remember the change.

All reports indicate that his stuff is much, much better than it was at the Futures Game. I saw him once this year at Brevard County and he was awesome. He pretty much featured fast-curve, but tossed a few sliders and changes in here and there. Could definitely see the promise in the slider.

I picked up Verlander and Liriano last year when they were AA. I'm in good shape even if he doesn't make it.

I wouldn't even say he had a "decent" fastball in the Futures game.

He was throwing 92, and I think he may have gotten up to 94 once or twice.

Maybe he wasn't warmed up or something, I don't know. But I was really surprised how poorly he looked in that game.

i ruined it, he had a perfect game through 5 innings and gave up 3 hits in the 6th.

I have him as my #8 pitching prospect, bound to improve if he keeps dominating. Don't have them compared to hitters yet, but I'd guess he's somewhere around #20 for me, overall.

Number 8 pitching prospect!? Behind who!? Hughes, Bailey, Garza, Hirsch, Adenhart (?), and then? The only guy I can think of is Elbert, and he's way too inconsistent to be above Gallardo. He was excellent last year except for his control, and he seems to have ironed that out this season, along with two very improved pitches - I find it hard to have him as the 8th best pitching prospect. I have him behind Hughes, Bailey, Garza, then a couple below Hirsch and he is interchangeable with Adenhart. Definitely top 25.

172 Ks in 140 IP, a sub-2 ERA, just 45 BB (2.8 BB/9), and just 6 homers allowed. His BAA is below .200, his OPSA is around .525, and he's improved in AA over his A+ performance. He may be one of the more underrated prospects out there, and that is probably because of his less than stellar outing at the Future's Game, where he was worn down. His stuff is obviously much better than was featured.

Yeah, he's one of the top six pitching prospects in the minors for me...making a case to pass up Pelfrey.
