Dan Uggla: day-to-day, hamstring

Uggla rests: In trying to leg out a grounder to third in the fifth inning Tuesday night, Dan Uggla hit the bag awkwardly, tweaking his right hamstring.

Playing it safe, Uggla was not in the starting lineup Wednesday, and his status is day-to-day.

Riding a five-game hitting streak, the rookie second baseman typically runs hard to first on any ground ball. An indication that he wasn't right came in his final at-bat, in the seventh inning, when he didn't sprint to first on a grounder to short. Instead, he trotted, and was replaced in the field the next inning.

I just read on CBS Sportsline that Uggla plans to be ready to play either Thursday or Friday. We'll see what happens. He's been one of my most productive players this season... :-o

From CBS.com

Dan Uggla, 2B FLA

News: Dan Uggla (hamstring) was out of the lineup again on Friday at N.Y. Yankees, missing his third straight start.

Analysis: Uggla remains day to day. Keep him reserved in all Fantasy leagues until he can officially return and play in consecutive games without any lingering effects of the injury.
