The Official Jose Reyes Bandwagon... Enjoy the Ride!

Postby NikeTxGuy » Thu Jun 22, 2006 2:08 am

Man this guy has gotten out of a slump big time... I've seen people drop him due to it and people have underestimated this guy, and even I thought he was gonna bat as bad as Sexson...

However this guy has turned it around and how! This guy is even performing better than Delgado and is becoming a very special person in the Mets organization... man am I glad I didn't act foolish and trade Reyes off!

*1st one to jump on Bandwagon*

Enjoy the ride New York Met Fans, and everyone in fantasy that has him! ;-D

that may be so, but according to Reyes' stats ever since he came into the league, this is the best that he's done by far... sure, he may be on pace to strikeout like he did last season, and maybe he'll be catched stealing more, but besides that I see a breakout year for Reyes!

i've been on this wagon since he came into the league! but i agree this kid is something special, and he will most likely go under the radar.. if he can keep up this 280 BA he could be a legit late first rounder next season.. not bad if he can knock in 15 homers hit 280 score 125+runs steal 65-70 bases and drive in 70rbis... definatly 1st round material ;-D like i've said many times.. hes carl crawford at shortstop.. which gives him even more value then crawford

I started a big preseason thread for my SS projections where I stated that Jose Reyes would be the league's most valuable fantasy shortstop. My proclamation was derided and most posters disagreed with me. It's fun to look back at it and feel vindicated.

Although this might be the year to actually BE a Mets fan.
Bold Predictions:

Grady Sizemore will have more value than Jason Bay regardless of draft position

Aramis Ramirez in 155 G will hit over .300 40 HR 110 RBIs

Brian McCann will have more value than Jorge Posada regardless of draft position

Interesting. I think people forget that past performance is not necessarily a good indicator of future performanve, especially with young players. In fact, I think I read somewhere that superstars have a different profile in how their stats improve. Anyway, Reyes is doing about what I expected, except he's had a bit more power than I expected. Glad he's a keeper in two out of three leagues I own.
