i dont think trading jeff weaver is the answer...he doesnt have any trade value where we can get anything in return...and with question marks about our pitchers healths like colon and escobar...i think the angels would be smart to keep jeff around...not in the rotation...but keep him around in the pen...
they said they would only trade santana for a stud hitter...nothing mediocre...
i would luv to see cabrera get traded to the angels...but thats a pipedream...as many believe that florida will trade away cabrera and willis...i dont believe either of them are gonna end up on different teams by the end of this season...
some guys i think the angels will target are...soriano, carlos lee, or carl crawford...
i think tb doesnt want to let crawford go...even tho they are extremely deep in the OF...so i see soriano and carlos lee as the best canidates to be an angel by july 31...
I know I might get killed for this... but why not trade Frankie Rodriguez? He is just too sketchy as a closer in my book. We have Shields, who can legitimately be a 2 inning closer... Donnelly would be a 7th or 8th guy (depending on Shields usage) and Carrasco be a 6h or 7th guy with Romero being the lefty specialist.
I'd trade Francisco Rodriguez, Ervin Santana, and Dallas McPherson for Miguel Cabrera and possibly some minor league throw ins.
Then we'd finally have some stinking protection for Vlad as well as a stud 3B or OF... depending on what we do with Figgy, Erstad, Rivera, and GA. Our bullpen will still be good enough to hold the leads we'd be getting with MCab in this lineup. I mean I love Ervin Santana, but you gotta give up a stud to get a stud. Plus it will free up a rotation spot for Jered Weaver to come back up.
If anyone else thinks I'm crazy, go ahead, fire away. But I think we could get a lot of value for Frankie if we traded him... although I don't see that happening...
This is out of the top of my head so we could definitely tweak the deal around. I'm just tired of the same old crap we put out there everyday. We need to shake things up, and we wouldn't be mortgaging our farm system either.
i like krod...so im not a fan of ur idea...but more so for that fact that i hate donnelly...he blows...hes not anywhere close to what he use to be when he was lights out...theres no way the angels would make it thru one run leads to our closer(even if it was shields)...
shields is the man and i definetly believe he can close...but u cant expect him to go 2 innings every night...

morales is gonna be good...i wouldnt take huff or hillenbrand...we know how good huff and hillenbrand are gonna be...this kid morales is gonna be a better hitter then huff or hillnbrand will ever be...
Yeah, I think Santana is staying put... he's been our most consistent pitcher during the season... unless we can get Cabrera, I don't see us dealing Ervin.
As much as I love AK, it's Kendrick's position in 2007 and I think Kennedy's the odd man out. That being as, I like his defense at 2b and his bat in the #9 hole. Since Kendrick hasn't proven himself in the bigs yet, I say we keep AK there for the rest of '06.
If we trade for Cabrera, I think anyone except Vlad should be available. They are going to want three prospects, so I say let's give it to them if we can ink MCab to a multiyear contract. Players of his caliber are very rare, and if all we have to give up is prospects who have yet to prove themselves, I say go for it.
Has anybody heard of any specific rumors? Not just that the Angels are interested in so-in-so... but like Player(s) X for Player(s) Y
