Blankman, eventually you had to be right. To say Dontrelle failed
is downright strupid, he had a bad game, period. I think I am going
to watch the "Weather Channel" before his next start ! While you
were wrong, I picked up 7 wins and some nice stats.

How about cutting the KID a little slack. Yes it WAS bound to happen.Did you really expect him to go the rest of the way undefeated? And you say . Against the Dodgers? Well this is the major leagues and as somebody said you never know. Well we do know. It can happen. I still will take my chances with him. And it is still a tough call between him and Webb for rookie of the year. I am one that believes its not if you team is in the playoffs.Its the season that counts. Yopu only do what you can do to get your team there. You have no control over the rest of your team. And should not be penalized if they come up a game short.I'm out of here. I'm hopping on board that D-Train

I lucked out. I had Willis on the bench. My Internet connection was down until about 7:00. When I finally got on, to put him in the lineup it was too late. Of course, I'm not going to announce that to my league. I'll just let them keep thinking that I knew what I was doing.

Just the other day someone was talking about Willis and Beckett pitching against LA...I said I hope they fared better than Clement did...I think LA's bats might just be coming to life a bit, who knows.

Okay, here's the Adrian Beltre story ever year. He sucks from April till about July/August when the Dodgers acquire somebody to push him at 3B. Last year, it was Tyler Houston. This year, it is Robin Ventura. Then, Beltre gets as hot as any 3B not named Pujols, the Dodgers get excited and say the kid has finally reached his potential, but he sucks ass again in April, until the Dodgers acquire somebody new in the summer.

That being said, I'm probably gonna start him over Aramis Ramirez, who's only hit 2 homers with a few more RBIs, while he's hot.

Here are Beltre's August and July stats for the last few years:

July 2002: .300, 6 homers, 18 RBI
August 2002: .320, 4 homers, 15 RBI
July 2001: .235, 5 homers, 16 RBI
August 2001: .304, 1 homer, 9 RBI (dunno what happened this year)
July 2000: .296, 2 homers, 15 RBI
August 2000: .368, 5 homers, 22 RBI

Here's to a repeat of August 2000! ;-D
