The Cardinals official site just changed to list Suppan as the starter for Thursday, and Larussa is quoted as saying Reyes is "not ready" for Thursday. :-/

I didn't plan on starting him against the ChiSox anyway.

I don't think he meant he wasn't ready in general...I think more it meant he needed more days to rest or something along those lines. If Ponson's move is permanent then I think he will still likely be in the rotation sooner than later...they aren't going to go with a 4 man rotation.

Wonderful- I wanted to get a quick start before Burnett or Patterson are ready. I picked both of those up within the last couple weeks. Joe

Exactly...I would take the 'not ready' quote from LaRussa to mean that he wasn't ready to go that day. I would still expect Reyes to be up sooner rather than later if Ponson's demotion is permanent.

Excellent.
I'm in a CBS league and I have the 9th WW spot this week.
I hope the other schmucks in my league read the CBS Larussa quotes and pass on him.

I, on the other hand, am blessed to read the opinions of the "Cafe's" many brilliant baseball men and will be acquiring Reyes on Friday!! ;-D
Shhhhhhh.

Well, I must retract my previous statement, Cardinals website has just changed their tune....

CHICAGO -- Rookie Anthony Reyes is almost certain to start the Cardinals' game on Thursday against the White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field, but the right-hander has not officially been announced at this point.
"There's a better than 50-50 chance Anthony Reyes will come up here and pitch that game," said pitching coach Dave Duncan before Tuesday night's game. "But is it a lock yet? No."
