There's still more than a third of the season left to play. Long, long way to go.
I really don't think playoffs will have anything to do with who wins this award, though. It's going to come down to who has the best stats, and more importantly in the eyes of the voters, the most wins.

I agree, but those Tiger fans need their respect! Not to say he's not good or anything, but he just doesn't add up, especially to Paps or to Liriano.
What does Verlander have to do? He's 13-4, with a 2.69 ERA!!!!!!
How is that not in the same class as Liriano or Paps, or even Shilling??
It seems to me that Verlander does not get his due on this site. Way, way too many skeptics.
Reggie Sanders commented last week that Verlander reminds him of a righthanded Randy Johnson...Michaels of Cleveland was awed by Verlander's "electric" stuff yesterday.
This kid is real, real good. To me, better than Paps, just under Liriano.
If Liriano were to win Cy Young, would he also win ROY by default?
Not if Papelbon keeps pitching like he is right now.
Wrong. If a rookie wins the freaking Cy Young, hes a mortal lock for the ROY. I can't remember if a rookie has ever won the Cy Young. I thought maybe it was Gooden but he won it in his 2nd season. Valenzuela I believe, but that was a shortened season in which he won.
