if you feel like gambling, sure go ahead. I would just have to wait and see him pitch like that against a decent ball club.

Glavine

I think Glavine's outing falls into the "Even a Blind Squirel Sometimes Finds a Nut" category.

You've got a solid staff. I wouldn't mess with it.

(Spoken by an owner who's WHIP was ruined by Glavine in the first half and still hasn't recovered!)

yeah a Glavine pickup should be by a team that desperately needs pitching, you would just be tweaking so dont risk it

There must be a conspiracy to plant false news stories about this supposed great game of Glavine's. After all, Arizona has QuesTec at its ballpark, and Glavine (and the media) has consistently blasted and blamed QuesTec for his poor outings this season.

What... you say it's true that Glavine pitched well at a QuesTec-installed ballpark? Then - who or what is to blame for Glavine's bad outings? :-)

zona is decent but they are ice cold. gonzo and shea need to start hitting to be considered a contender for the wild card.

'Zona has not hit a lick of late. Everyone is getting healthy against these guys it seems. Just can't get excited by one good Glavine effort. And if all he can go is six IP even on a good night, his W's will be very limited. Pass.

Arizona is a decent team, but only because they have a great starting rotation and solid bullpen. Their offense is one of the weaker offenses in the league, so Glavine's performance is not all that impressive.

I think that if he starts pitching better he might be worth a pickup for ERA help. However, don't expect WHIP help, because even in his prime, Glavine was a mediocre WHIP guy. Also don't expect the wins, because he won't get much run support and even if he leads with a win, the Mets terrible bullpen will most likely blow it.
