Konerko to sit during interleague play?

I read a report a couple weeks ago (sorry, don't have access to it right now) that stated during interleague play where the team was away in an NL ball park and the DH rule no longer applied, Thome would get the starts at 1B to keep his bat in the lineup.

Can anyone else verify this? If so, it will be helpful for Konerko owners to know this. Personally, I think it stinks. Konerko is hardly a scrub and it seems to me they could do situational starts or rotate the two on a one-night-on, one-night-off basis.

I heard that he was going to sit them out, because the team (and mainly Guillen) saw Thome's left handed bat as being more valuable in the interleague games without a DH. This is only for away games as far as I know though. Pauly should get the start in all interleague games that are played in CHI town (if there are any more)...

Updating a previous item, The Chicago Tribune reports Chicago White Sox DH Jim Thome could start as many as three interleague games in National League ballparks at first base. "He's not going to sit down for nine games-it's not going to happen," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "Maybe he'll play one game of each series. I just worry about him catching the ball." Guillen doesn't plan to put Thome in the field before the Cincinnati Reds series that starts Friday, June 16, but Thome could play first base June 18 against Reds SP Aaron Harang.

ChiSox are playing @ Cincy. I THINK it means he will sit tonight and tomorrow and play 1B on Sunday vs. Harang.

Anyone heard more?

I would assume they would play Konerko any time they faced a left hander and also try to space out Thome's 3 starts (out of the 9 games) to keep him fresh and playing against right handers only.

They're not gonna use Thome carefully because he just came off a nagging groin injury and he was all banged up last year aswell -- I expect Konerko to get the majority of starts.
