Does anybody know where I can find the success rate of pickoff attempts??
Because when base stealers like Crawford and Figgins get on base the opposing pitcher throws atleast 10 times to 1st base
Im like wtf

I think this is the strategy:
more pickoff attempts = more dirt = heavier uniform = slower runner

1. It tires the runner out
2. It ticks the batter off
3. It gives the pitcher time to get big enough cajones to throw it over the plate to someone who will probably PWN him
I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment

IT does get the runner tired. And when you through over eventually the runner will get close to the base.

Yea the runner might move a foot closer to the bag if he almost gets caught a couple of times, and a foot makes a big difference when you're trying to steal a base.
