Seems like he's lineup happy right now. Won't use the same lineup twice.

don't worry; it won't last.

Bernie's not playing today, so the lineup will likely go back to normal soon.

That keeps the opponent off guard... ;-)

I agree though...he needs to settle in on a line up.....

It actually makes alot of sense to have Johnson batting near the top of the order, given that he has a great .422 on base percentage, due to all the walks he takes. What would really make sense is permanently getting Soriano out of the leadoff spot because his plate discipline and on base percentage (.322) is atrocious for a leadoff hitter.

I would set the lineup up:

1. Jeter
2. Johnson
3. Giambi
4. Williams
5. Matsui
6. Boone
7. Posada
8. Dellucci
9. Soriano

Actually Jeter has a career .349 AVG batting 3rd.

In fact, if it wasn't for his poor speed, Nick Johnson would be an ideal leadoff hitter, since he gets on base so much. If he played for a team like the Jays, that don't steal, he would be leading off. Soriano is a terrible leadoff hitter IMO.

Johnson batting leadoff would be good for the Yanks. But, as you said jdh, he needs some speed....Let's see if we can attach some wheels to his feet! :-D
