YOUR All-Star Fantasy Squad! Who would you have on it?

Postby NikeTxGuy » Thu Jun 15, 2006 1:34 am

What is your IDEAL All-Star Baseball Team??? Who would you have on it and if you want to share, why you would have them on the team...

OK now I'll start...

With my fantasy all-star squad, I would have these players on it:

Primary Catcher Selection: Victor Martinez
Runner-up Catcher Selection: Jorge Posada

Primary 1B Selection: Albert Pujols
Runner-up 1B Selection: David Ortiz

Primary 2B Selection: Alfonso Soriano
Runner-up 2B Selection: Chase Utley

Primary 3B Selection: Alex Rodriguez
Runner-up 3B Selection: Miguel Cabrera

Primary SS Selection: Jose Reyes
Runner-up SS Selection: Derek Jeter

Primary OF(s): Vladimir Guerrero, Manny Ramirez, Carlos Beltran
Runner-up OF(s): Vernon Wells, Bobby Abreu, Ichiro Suzuki

Primary UTIL: Pronk! (If you watch MLB, you'll know who this is!)
Runner-up UTIL: 8-o

Primary Starting Pitchers (Two Best Ones In YOUR Opinion...)
-Johan Santana and Mike Mussina

Runner-up Starting Pitchers: Brandon Webb and Chris Carpenter

Primary Relief Pitchers (Two Best in YOUR opinion...)
-Jonathan Papelbon and BJ Ryan

Runner-up Relief Pitchers: Jason Isringhausen and Francisco Rodriguez

How would you make your team of All-Star Players???

Well they are different things.

For example, I'd definitely take Johan Santana over Roy Halladay in fantasy, because of his K rate. But in real life, Halladay has been the better pitcher this year, and probably deserves to be the AL starter more than him at this point.

Anyways, if we're going fantasy...here they are:

C: Joe Mauer
1B: Albert Pujols
2B: Alfonso Soriano (he is still 2nd base eligible in fantasy, though for real life he'd obviously be included as an OF)
SS: Miguel Tejada
3B: David Wright
OF: Carlos Beltran
OF: Carlos Lee
OF: Jason Bay
Util: Travis Hafner

SP: Johan Santana
SP: Mike Mussina
RP: Jonathon Papelbon
RP: B.J Ryan
P: Pedro Martinez
P: Brandon Webb
P: Curt Schilling

What's funny is that that pitching staff wouldn't have been that impossible to draft before the year started...

It would have been quite easy to... but drafting all the hitters on the other hand :-]
