droping a player after a deal

Postby eftda » Thu Jun 15, 2006 12:59 am

I made a deal than invovled sending a team a 2nd baseman. I had Figgins so I didn't worry about my 2nd base position. I came back to the computer and saw that the team I traded with had Jose Lopez. I asked what he was going to do with lopez now that he had the new 2nd baseman, and he said "Drop him." My league has a 0 day WW, so I quickly picked Lopez. The trade will be put through tomorrow. My question is : was this wrong?

I dont think anything wrong was done here. He dropped him, and you just happened to be on at the right time. If anyone complains, point to the 0 day WW and say thats just what happens when the settings are like that.

That move was horribly wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if you went straight to hell for that one...

Just Kidding. Of course it was fine. The only thing wrong here was that a dude would just drop Lopez...

I kinda think that's wrong, but it's a rules problem more than collusion. The big problem here is your league's zero-day WW policy, which effectively means no WW. Too much potential for abuse there.

My money league has no waivers and there's never been any problems with it.

Yeah, what would have been wrong (not that the other owner would have done anything wrong...just wrong) is if someone else had gotten him instead. That's why I always ask in unbalanced trades who the other team plans on dropping...sometimes they're better than the player you would have picked up with the extra spot. ;-D
